BABU OWINO BIOGRAPHY

He was born in a city slum of Kondele in Kisumu. His mother was a chang’aa seller.

After he passed his primary school education he got a letter from Mang’u high school but his mother could not afford the school fees and a sponsor chipped in but took him to Kisumu High School.

He scored an -A minus.He was not happy with this,and turned down the JAB offer.A frustrated Babu went to Uganda to do some business that i will explain later. After two years in Uganda he came back and joined UON to pursue actuarial science.That was in 2008.

SONU Chair Babu Owino has moved to clear the air over his source of wealth.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s Big Question on Tuesday, Babu stated that he does not deal in drugs, noting that he owns several companies in the country which are his fountain of wealth.

“I not very wealthy and the wealth I have comes from God. I own a number of companies including a supplies company, a property and a construction company. I am also a farmer,” he stated.

“Long ago, Libya’s late president, Muammar Gadaffi used to be my best friend, and he used to finance me.

“When he passed on, I was left a financial orphan and decided to look for other international friends,” said Babu.

““I would not disclose them because when I reveal their identity, they are killed – just like what they did to Gaddafi,” said Babu Owino.

Embakasi East MP Babu marked his entry into the National Assembly with controversy when he added “and Raila Amolo Odinga” to his oath.
