Emmy Kosgei is a successful Kenyan gospel artist whose talents have transformed gospel music in Kenya. The seasoned gospel performer was born into a strong Christian family, which influenced her Christian life and desire to perform gospel. She began singing at an early age and began recording singles while in high school.
Emmy Kosgei was born on July 22, 1980, in Mogotio, Koibatek District, to Rose Kose, a reverend, and Jackson Kosgei, her father, who is also a bishop from the former Rift Valley province.
Emmy Kosgei first gained attention with her tune Taunet Nelel from the album Taunet. Her extravagant musical career has earned her a Head of State Commendation. She was also named Best International Gospel Act at the 2013 UK Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts Awards. Emmy Kosgei is the owner of the Emmy K House of Fashion and Label. She is the type of person that prefers to walk the walk. Emmy Kosgei Madubuko is also Kenya's ambassador for Tourism and Culture.
