Hopekid, discovered his passion for music in primary school and began writing music because he lacked the financial means to pursue his dream. He had no idea where this would lead him.
Hopekid was born and raised in Kayole, eventually becoming the family's 'kid'. He enrolled in Kayole's Dawabu Primary School, where he began writing songs and performing them for his classmates. His parents and friends encouraged him to pursue his musical interests because he was so talented at such a young age.
