Kataleya-and-kandle's Biography in Summary

If you listen to the radio, watch local television, or are a fan of Uganda's entertainment industry, you are probably familiar with the 'Do me' or 'Muzibe wa Love' songs that have been making waves across the country. The voices behind these hit songs and many more are none other than Kataleya and Kandle, Uganda's upcoming next biggest duo.

The local music industry has seen a number of success stories involving singing duos and groups, and this could be the next. Among the all female, we have had the defunct Blu*3, Obsession, Dream Girlz, and HB Toxic, among others. Kataleya and Kandle are the most recent additions.
 

Early Childhood and Education
Kataleya was born in the 1990s on December 19th. Kataleya's real name is Namakula Hadijah, and she attended Apostolic Primary School in Mengo before attending Noah's Ark High School in Rubaga.

Kandle was born on February 22nd as Nabatuusa Rebecca Robins and attended Bunamwaya C/U primary school and Kyambogo College.

What brought them together
Though they may appear to be biologically related, Kataleya and Kandle are best friends who have been together for several years after meeting at a birthday party.

Yes! Kandle met Kataleya, the birthday girl, while accompanying a friend to a birthday party. After exchanging numbers and connecting for a while, it was just a simple 'hi' that sparked the friendship, which later blossomed into an unbreakable bond of best friendship. This is how they discovered they could both sing.

Journal of Music
The two decided to collaborate musically because they shared similar musical ideologies; they both adore music. Being nothing like a girl duo by the time they started singing in Uganda was also an inspiration for them. Their musical journey is most likely similar to that of any other Ugandan musician. 
 

After searching for someone to invest in their dream and coming up empty-handed, the couple decided to do it themselves, an action they do not regret. They promised themselves that anyone interested in working with them would find them on the way.
Kandle claims the two began making music in 2017 or 2018, after realizing there was no female singing duo at the time. It was also her idea to close that gap.

Kataleya and Kandle's love of music and talent earned them contracts with Theron Music, a label that manages them. He informed them about the music auditions that Theron Music (a record label) had organized while doing a recording session at Nessim's Studio. 

They approached them, auditioned them, and a few months later, they received a call informing them that they had been signed.

The two argue that they are not defined by any music genre because they are versatile, which they are. They can perform dance hall, afrobeat, soul, and many other styles.

Dreams The two do not always see their future in music because each of them has a dream to pursue. Kataleya aspires to be a pilot, and Kandle an air hostess, and if the opportunity arises, they must seize it. However, they claim to be here today and ready to take over the world because of their love and passion for music.

Challenges
Music, like any other profession, is fraught with difficulties. Being a public figure has been the main source of their difficulties in their musical journey, according to them.
They make a point about the wardlobe and social life. They claim that they used to be able to dress however they wanted, hang out at any kafunda, and eat at any restaurant, but that all changed once they became famous.

Potential Future as a Duo
Unlike other strong duos that have broken up, Kataleya and Kandle are certain they will stay together longer. First and foremost, they owe their continued success as a duo to their management Theron Music, who has always had their back.
 

They also claim to have done extensive research on the challenges that various singing groups have faced around the world and to have learned a lot from their mistakes and experiences.

Relationships with Romance
Kandle claims that the two are currently deeply in love with their music.

They both enjoy fashion, movies, and traveling. They both enjoy taking care of themselves because they enjoy looking good. In their spare time, the two spend time with their families, listen to music, watch TV shows, work out, and do other things.
