Stephen Letoo is a well-known senior political affairs journalist, presenter, and analyst for Citizen TV, which is owned by Royal Media Services. He has extensive experience in political news coverage, having worked in the field for the most of his distinguished career. The public has labeled him a partisan journalist at times, but he says it comes with the position.
"In politics, all of these charges of being pro-government or anti-government develop. Unfortunately, it is how our audiences judge us. People associated me with the NASA coalition during elections, while my colleague Jackie Maribe was accused of being pro-jubilee.
However, our residents are directed by contacts and a calendar of events, making it difficult for them to obtain information because politicians consistently brief trusted reporters," he says.

“When I was a boy, I could see many people visiting our house to watch television. My father is a chief and he owns the only television in our village. I've become an all-time fan and like some of the KBC News reporters and messengers.
Then for many years, Kanze Dena was also on the screen and I admired what she was doing. At Kabianga High School, I started a weekly meeting newsletter titled “Kabianga 100,” which, oddly, was the platform that later saw me rise to land my first job at Kiss 100. ,” a- he said in an earlier interview.
He started reporting on Kiss 100 and Classic 105 radio stations of the Radio Africa group and also wrote news for the school blog.
Then he got a job at Citizen TV where he works till now reporting news on politics and politicians.
As a political journalist, he was previously attacked by GSU plainclothes agents at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). It was during the period when Miguna Miguna failed.
In an interview with a local blog, Stephen Letoo revealed that finding information is not an easy task. This and the fact that we are sometimes torn between what to report and what to give.
“Finding political content is difficult. If you don't spend time with politicians, you lose everything. Most of the time you have to go out and try to hang out with politicians to get very unique stories. It's often expensive and employers can't bill you.
Again, if you receive very special information that can help you work on a topic of discussion, you will be torn between what to report and what to just ignore. Sometimes you're the only one with information about a story that delegates don't want to spread. As soon as you do, they can easily pick you up,” he said.
